4. Mass Participants

4.1 Check-in Procedures

Participants will be assigned to start waves based on their best Marathon or Half Marathon performance achieved in a Chinese Athletics Association-certified A1 event held on or after 1 September 2024, as recorded on the China Marathon Information Platform.

After the start wave assignments have been announced, the Organizing Committee will open a wave assignment appeal process. Participants may submit an appeal within two (2) calendar days by uploading a valid result certificate from an A1-certified event, a World Athletics Label Road Race, or an AIMS-certified race held on or after 1 September 2024.

Participants using wheelchairs shall assemble at the rear of the last assembly zone within their assigned start wave. No racing wheelchair category will be offered, and the use of racing wheelchairs is prohibited.

Check-in mats will be installed at the entrance to each start wave. Participants must enter the designated assembly area according to their assigned wave. A participant's start will be considered valid only after crossing both the check-in mat for the assigned wave and the official start timing mat.

Participants must wear appropriate sports attire and display their official race bib as instructed. Items unrelated to the competition—including, but not limited to, helmets, masks, flags, banners, baby strollers, or similar objects—are not permitted on the course. Participants who fail to comply with these requirements may be disqualified.

4.2 Race Start

The race will be started in three waves at 7:30 a.m., 7:45 a.m., and 8:00 a.m., with different start times assigned to different waves. Participants are not permitted to change their assigned start wave on race day. Participants who commit a false start will not be recalled. Instead, the Referee will disqualify the offending participant in accordance with the applicable competition rules.

4.3 Timing

(1) The race will use an electronic chip timing system. Net time will be recorded from the moment a participant crosses the official start timing mat. The Overall Awards and the Special Awards for Chinese Participants will be determined based on Gun Time, while the Age Group Awards will be determined based on Net Time.

(2) Timing mats will be installed at the Start, every 5 km, the Half Marathon split, the turning point, and the Finish. Participants must cross every timing mat in sequence. Any participant who completes the race within the official time limit but misses any timing checkpoint will be deemed to have shortened the course and will be disqualified from the official results.

(3) Timing chips will be distributed together with the race bib and other race materials during race pack collection. Disposable timing chips will be used. No chip deposit is required, and timing chips will not be collected after the race.

(4) Digital display boards and continuous video recording will be provided at all intermediate timing points.

4.4 Time Limits

To ensure the safety of all participants and to minimize disruption to public traffic, rolling road closures will be implemented along the course. Official cut-off times will be enforced at designated distances. Once the cut-off time for a particular point has been reached, the corresponding timing mat will cease operation, and the affected section of the course will be reopened to public traffic. Participants who fail to reach the designated distance within the applicable cut-off time must immediately stop racing and leave the course to avoid potential safety risks. Participants who withdraw from the race may board an official Sweep Vehicle to the finish area or leave the course using public transportation at their own expense.

The official cut-off times are based on elapsed race time, as shown in the table below.

Note 1: Participants in the preceding start wave will not be permitted to start within five (5) minutes before the scheduled start of the second or third wave.

Note 2: Participants who fail to pass the designated timing checkpoint before the official cut-off time and continue on the course after the roads have been reopened to public traffic shall assume full legal liability and financial responsibility for any accidents, injuries, or incidents caused or sustained thereafter.

4.5 Baggage Drop and Collection

(1) Participants may check in their baggage at the designated baggage drop area at the start venue according to their bib number and collect it from the corresponding baggage claim area at the finish. The Organizing Committee will not inspect the contents of baggage bags. Accordingly, no claims regarding the condition of items stored in the baggage bag upon collection will be accepted, and the Organizing Committee shall not be liable for any loss of or damage to the contents. Participants are strongly advised not to place valuables, cash, mobile phones, identification documents, or other important items in their baggage bags.

(2) Only the official event baggage bag provided by the Organizing Committee may be used for baggage check. Participants are responsible for making their own arrangements for the storage of oversized luggage.

(3) On race day, baggage check-in at the start area will close 15 minutes before the scheduled start of each wave. Participants are advised to allow sufficient time for baggage drop before proceeding to their assigned assembly area. Checked baggage must be collected from the designated baggage claim area at the finish no later than 2:30 p.m. on race day.

Baggage not collected by the deadline may be claimed from the Organizing Committee within five (5) days after the race. If delivery by courier is requested, all shipping costs shall be borne by the participant. Any baggage that remains unclaimed after this period will be treated as abandoned property and disposed of accordingly.

The table below outlines the locations of water, food, and refreshment stations:

Personal Refreshment Stations for Elite Athletes will be provided at every 5 km along the course. Additional disciplinary sanctions may be imposed after the race in cases of serious violations.

5. Elite Athletes

5.1 Check-in

A dedicated Elite Athlete Check-in Area and Warm-up Area will be provided for the Marathon event. the two (2) fastest female finishers; and

the eight (8) fastest remaining finishers.

If a team has fewer than two female finishers or fewer than ten finishers in total, the missing participants shall each be assigned the official race cut-off time for the purpose of calculating the team's average finishing time. If a team has fewer than eight finishers in total, its result shall be deemed invalid, and it shall not be ranked. Where two or more teams record the same average finishing time, the tie shall be broken by comparing the Net Time of each team's fastest finisher. If the tie remains, the second-fastest finisher shall be compared, followed by the third-fastest finisher, and so on until the tie is resolved.

The top three (3) Running Clubs will receive prize money (in RMB) in accordance with the prize table below.

5. If a participant qualifies for both the Overall Marathon Awards and the Special Awards for Chinese Participants, only the higher-value prize will be awarded. Prize money will not be awarded cumulatively, and the vacated award position will not be reallocated.

6. All prize money is subject to a 20% Individual Income Tax, which will be withheld in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations of the People's Republic of China. In addition, pursuant to the World Athletics Label Road Races Regulations, 2% of the prize money awarded to the top eight (8) finishers in the Marathon Overall Awards will be withheld by the Organizing Committee as the World Athletics Athlete Contribution.

7. Prize money will be paid after the official anti-doping results have been released.

If a prize winner returns an adverse anti-doping result or otherwise fails doping control, the participant's race result, ranking, and prize entitlement shall be revoked. Prize money for the Running Club Competition will be paid to the Team Captain of the winning team.

Any participant who fails to record a valid split at any official timing checkpoint shall be disqualified in accordance with the World Athletics Competition and Technical Rules.

13. The results of the top twenty (20) overall finishers will be published on the Official Race Website within 24 hours after the race for a 10-day review period.
